2020 Ford Raptor Details and Rumors

The 2020 Ford Raptor is Coming… Are You Ready?

Anyone who knows anything about trucks knows that the F-150 is not only Ford’s best selling truck, it is the most popular truck in the entire country. The Raptor is the variant of the F-15o that has been tailor-made for off-road use. For the 2019 iteration, Ford implemented some truly excellent adjustments made for the Raptor, making it lighter and inserting some impressive performance technology to keep the vehicle ahead of the curve. The 2020 Ford Raptor, if the rumors are true, is poised to knock the 2019 model out of the water. With a rumored supercharged 5.2L V8 engine (the same one used in current Mustang models), the Raptor is shaping up to be the must-have truck of the 2020 model lineup.

At Ultimate Rides, it’s safe to say that we know trucks. It’s been quite a while since we’ve become this excited about an upcoming vehicle, so that must be saying something. As Ford prepares to relaunch its F-Series lineup in the next couple of years, it’s clear that they want to send this generation out with a bang. The supercharged V8 engine will supposedly be able to deliver over 700 horsepower inside the Mustang GT500 when it releases later on this year, and the powerful engine likely will achieve similar numbers if not greater inside of the 2020 Ford Raptor. If you want a truck that will be able to serve you to its maximum potential both on the road and off of it, you had better get prepared for the new edition of the Raptor.

2020 Ford Raptor Release Date Rumors

We have yet to know exactly when Ford plans to unleash the 2020 Raptor upon us, but our best guess is sometime in the second half of 2020. Yes, we know that seems like an impossible wait, but we truly believe this vehicle is going to be well worth it. Ford is competing with Ram in this regard, as the opposing truck company also plans to debut a supercharged version of their own truck for release sometime next year. We don’t know which one will be coming first, but from the sounds of it Ram may have a leg up on Ford in this race. Don’t be surprised if you see the impressive Ram TRX debut ahead of the 2020 Ford Raptor, but don’t make any hasty decisions. The Raptor shouldn’t be too far behind.

What to Expect Based on the 2019 Raptor Model

The main priority of the F-150 Raptor has always been performance, and the 2019 edition proved that it took this claim seriously. Though it’s certainly no supercharged V8, the 2019 Raptor included a 24-valve 3.5L V6 EcoBoost® engine that was able to get occupants up to 450 horsepower, which was best in its class among 2019 models. Though that doesn’t hold much of a candle to the reported 700 horsepower that next year’s Raptor will net us, but it is still a pretty impressive number nonetheless.

Whether it’s in the mud or the showroom, you can’t say that this year’s Raptor doesn’t have its visual aesthetic down to a tee.

The truck has a unique front grille that gives it an instantly recognizable look, and the 2019 Raptor is outfitted with high-output off-road FOX Live Valve Racing Shox™ with internal bypass technology. These shocks deliver some truly incredible performance, and we’re hopeful that Ford is going to bring them back for next year’s model. The shocks are constantly adjusting to new terrain, making it perfect for the optimal off-road truck. The transmission is an electronic automatic 10-speed that features a mode specifically meant for towing and hauling heavy cargo, and you’ll be able to choose between a 16 and 26 gallon gas tank.

It’s a safe bet that most of the features present in the 2019 model will still be around in the 2020 Ford Raptor, so we think it’s okay for you to start getting excited and planning out what you’ll be doing in your new truck. Features like charging ports, the deluxe touchscreen, and the huge list of safety features are all safe bets to make a comeback. Putting it simply, if you were a fan of the 2019 Raptor, by the sounds of it you are going to be blown away by everything Ford has planned for the next iteration.

Whether your color is red, blue, or something else entirely, you can bet that you’ll find a Raptor that matches your taste.
