Choosing a 50 cal antenna for your Truck or Jeep Wrangler can always be the best part of owning a vehicle. After you do things like headlights, a 50 inch light bar and other parts, next up comes the smaller things like 50 cal bullet antennas, handle covers and stickers. Rather you have served in Military(thanks for your service), policeman, or you enjoy shooting guns outdoors. Then a 50 cal bullet antenna will be something right up your alley. In this review I will cover 50 cal truck antennas for vehicles like the Chevrolet Silverado, Ford F-150, and Dodge Ram. Also I will cover a 50 cal antenna that will fit the Jeep Wrangler, one of my favorite vehicles. Sometimes people complain of reception loss with using a bullet antenna, so I will try to keep this list to the ones that have a pretty solid reputation for quality. AMS and AntennaX really dominate the list when it comes to 50 cal antennas. For around thirty dollars you can be 50 caliber truck antenna ready. Lets move into this buy guide, so you can be on your way with a cool antenna for your ride.

Quick overview(review below)

AntennaX 50 Cal Black Bullet (5.5-inch) Ammo Antenna for Ford F150

Going to start the list with the Ford F150. The bullet antenna f150 has a few options out there and AntennaX is a company that worries about reception and most customers do not notice a difference. This 50 cal antenna for f150 is a low profile at 5.5 inches, and I would consider this a cool stubby antenna for your f150. Made out of T-6061 Billet Aluminum with a black anodized finish that will not chip, scratch or sun fade over time. This antenna is a plug and play and basically just screws on to where your old antenna goes, something that makes this the best short antenna for f150. AntennaX is a known company in the stubby and short antenna space and I think this would be a good choice for your Ford. Fits every Ford truck 1980 through 2018. The most popular 2013 2014 or 2015 F15o can be rocking in style with the 50 cal antenna!

AntennaX 50 Cal Black Bullet (5.5-inch) Ammo Antenna for Dodge Ram 1500

A bullet antenna for your Dodge Ram is next on the list, and yes AntennaX is coming in as one of the best for 50cal style. I have others on this list, but as far as reception goes these guys are the best. It’s got the same features as the one for the Ford F-150. Made out of T-6061 Billet Aluminum with a hard Black anodized finish that will not chip, scratch or fade over time. Installation is very simple with a plug and play style. You just screw on where the old one came off your Ram, as simple as that. The Dodge Ram Antenna is the same size coming in at 5.5 inches, so you can consider this bullet antenna a stubby style. Reception is very good for this one per usual with these guys. This antenna fits a ton of Dodge Ram 1500 trucks. Fits 1994 through 2018. Most popular models being 2003 2012 and 2015 Dodge Ram 1500 antenna believe it or not!

Ok ok I know what you’re thinking, AntennaX is the only 50 cal I’m using for this guide. But to be honest it’s what works. We occasionally get customers that want these and this is what we use. Cost is reasonable, they look great and reception holds up. Same as the others this thing is a plug and play screw on. Made from the same materials as the other guys T-6061 Billet Aluminum with a hard Black anodized finish. Fits Chevy Silverado 1985 through 2018. Fits everything for your 50 caliber antenna needs.

Ronin Bullet Antenna for Dodge RAM & Ford F150 Ford Raptor Trucks – Short Replacement Antenna

Ronin is the new guy on the list here with their version of the replica 50 caliber bullet antenna. I don’t know if the AntennaX antennas are cross compatible. But Ronin say you can use this on both Ford F-150 and Dodge Ram. They include all hardware and the required allen wrench. Stainless Hardware and 6061 Solid Billet Aluminum construction with Hard Anodize Black finish that will not chip or fade. I don’t think the reception is the same as AntennaX but it seems to be pretty close. This fits all Dodge RAM Trucks 1994 – 2017 and Ford F-Series 1997-2017.

Now it’s on to my favorite, the 50 cal antenna for the Jeep Wrangler. I just love a Wrangler because of all the options, add ons and cool little accessories. This Wrangler bullwt antenna is just one more thing to add to it. A good majority of the jeep owners that come into our shop serve in the military or police. I don’t kniw if that’s a Chicago thing or what. Reguardless this is cool thing for you jeepers out there. It looks like this is the same size as all the other ones on this page at 5.5 inches. Definitely in the wrangler stubby antenna category. Made with high quality T-6061 billet aluminum with hard anodized finish like the others. Fits 2007 through 2017 Jeep Wranglers. Things To Consider With 50 Cal Antenna

Lets face it, you want your jeep to look cool with your new antenna. And yes reception can be an issue at times with this antenna. But who really listens to radio that much as it is. Most people have a phone with blue tooth or auxiliary.  I’m not say that’s everyones preference, but it sure is mine. iTunes Radio is my new jam. Considering you might not use the radio, go ahead and buy for cosmetic purpose and not function. Because they have a ton more 50 cal antenna options here. I hope you use this review useful and find that antenna you were looking for.

50 Cal Bullet Antenna Buying Guide

We hope that we’ve given you a strong selection of choices when it comes to these accessories. We know they’re popular with hunters and other truck drivers, so despite having a few issues we think they’re worth checking out. They bring a level of coolness and toughness to a truck that can be hard to replicate.

When shopping around for your choice, make sure to look into customer reviews and read about things like reception and durability. Those are the two most important factors you should keep in mind while you shop. As we mentioned before, reception won’t be a factor if you don’t use the radio often, but we know that many of you out there do, so it is certainly something to keep in mind. Durability is important because nobody wants to replace their antenna accessory after just a few months on the road. Thankfully, most of these options are built incredibly tough, so you should expect to find plenty of strong choices out there.

Once those factors are taken into consideration, the rest is up to your own personal taste. Pick out the accessory that best matches your style, and use it to outfit your truck and make it a closer match to your personality. There are countless different options available across the internet, so we are very confident you’ll find one that matches your personality. Once you do, you’ll be ready to go hunting or take your vehicle out for whatever other purposes you can think of.

Final Thoughts

We often talk about installation concerns in our guides on products, but that won’t be an issue here. Just about all the options screw on or can be installed quite easily. Because of that, you shouldn’t even have to factor installation time into your plans. That’s one of the big benefits of shopping around for smaller accessories like these.

However, in the future, if you think you may need help with the installation of a truck accessory, or your ride needs some repairs or upgrades, we hope you’ll think of us here at Ultimate Rides. We’re centrally located about one hour south of Chicago, making us easily within a day’s drive of a vast amount of the country. We’re the best around at what we do, which includes vehicle repairs, modifications, maintenance and more. We also sell a wide selection of vehicles, so take a look and see if anything catches your eye. You’ll be glad you did! Our customers love our fair prices, excellent service and the respect we offer them.
