Lifted Trucks Built for Nevada Roads
Nevada drivers need trucks that can handle more than smooth pavement. From rocky terrain and desert backroads to snowy mountain passes in northern Nevada, a lifted truck gives you the extra ground clearance, capability, and confidence to drive wherever you need to go.
Our inventory includes lifted trucks from top brands including:
▪ Ford F-150 and Super Duty
▪ Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and 2500HD
▪ GMC Sierra 1500 and 2500HD
▪ Ram 1500 and 2500
▪ Toyota Tundra and Tacoma
Vehicle Inspection in Nevada
Nevada does not require a statewide safety inspection for most passenger vehicles and pickup trucks. However, some counties do require emissions testing before registration can be completed. Emissions testing is generally required in Clark County, including Las Vegas and Henderson, and in Washoe County, including Reno and Sparks. Most gasoline-powered vehicles from model year 1968 and newer, along with many diesel trucks up to 14,000 pounds GVWR, must be tested before registration.
Before purchasing a lifted truck in Nevada, make sure any modifications do not interfere with the truck’s emissions equipment, lighting, or overall safety.
Lifted Truck Regulations in Nevada
Nevada allows lifted trucks, but there are state rules that apply to vehicle height, lighting, and overall safety. Important Nevada lifted truck rules include:
▪ Nevada does not currently limit suspension lift height, frame height, or bumper height.
▪ The lowest part of the original body may not exceed:
28 inches for trucks under 4,501 lbs GVWR
30 inches for trucks 4,501–7,500 lbs GVWR
32 inches for trucks 7,501–10,000 lbs GVWR
▪ Headlights must be mounted between 24 and 54 inches from the ground.
▪ Tail lights must be between 15 and 72 inches from the ground.
▪ Overall vehicle height may not exceed 14 feet.
▪ Tires and fenders must remain safe and not create a hazard.
We recommend reviewing current Nevada regulations before registering your truck, especially if you plan to make additional modifications after purchase.
Registration & Taxes in Nevada
To register your lifted truck in Nevada, you will generally need:
▪ The vehicle title or signed purchase paperwork
▪ Proof of Nevada insurance
▪ A valid driver’s license or Nevada ID
▪ Emissions test paperwork if required in your county
▪ Payment for registration fees and taxes
Nevada registration costs are based on several factors, including the truck’s weight, original value, age, and the county where it will be registered. Most drivers will pay:
▪ A registration fee based on vehicle weight
▪ A Governmental Services Tax based on the truck’s original MSRP and depreciation
▪ Additional local county taxes in some parts of Nevada
Because registration fees in Nevada can vary significantly, we recommend checking with the Nevada DMV before completing your purchase.
