Jeep Wrangler vs Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
It’s no secret that we’re huge Jeep fans at Ultimate Rides. You’d be hard pressed to find another used dealership as into Jeeps as we are in the entire Joliet, IL area! One thing we get a lot from prospective buyers is the question of whether to get the Jeep Wrangler or Wrangler Unlimited. Both of them are great vehicles, but they are different, so we’ve put together a Jeep Wrangler vs Jeep Wrangler Unlimited comparison.
The Jeep Wrangler is a bit smaller, which helps give it its distinct turn radius that its drivers absolutely love. This smaller size also means that if you’re into off-roading or rock crawling in a Jeep, you might have an easier time of maneuvering around. You may also find that the Jeep Wrangler is able to get into more difficult places because of its size.
The Jeep Wrangler Unlimited has its own set of advantages, too. With its increased size, comes a lot more room. If you’ve got full-sized passengers who will regularly be occupying the back seat, you might want to do them a favor and go with the Wrangler Unlimited. It also comes with more cargo space, as well as a slightly larger fuel tank.
Jeep Wrangler Pros | Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Pros
Less Expensive | More Passengers
Amazing Turn Radius | Extra Cargo and Passenger Space
Better Trail Access | Higher Tow Rating
Traditional Jeep Look | Larger Fuel Tank |
Should I get a Jeep Wrangler or Wrangler Unlimited?
At the end of the day, both the Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Wrangler Unlimited are amazing rides, and we highly recommend both of them. If you’re planning to drive around friends and family all the time, then we suggest giving the Jeep Wrangler a test drive. Not worried about not having enough passenger room? The Jeep Wrangler is great, and will cost a bit less than its larger counterpart.
The most important thing is how the vehicle feels to you when you drive it, which is why you should come down to our used car lot in Morris, IL — just a drive down the road from Joliet, IL — and give the Jeep Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited a test drive!

If you have an idea to customize your Jeep, there’s probably someone who’s already done it, and posted instructions. There’s a vast amount of custom and aftermarket parts availbale for the Jeep to make it your own.
Off-Roading in a Jeep
Looking to head off the beaten path? Both the Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Wrangler Unlimited are great to take off-roading or rock crawling. Jeeps are the premiere vehicle to take off-road, and you can even earn hard badges from Jeep!
Easy to Clean
Worried about how all of that off-roading in the mud will cover your new Jeep with dirt and grime? Lucky for you, the Jeep is one of the easiest vehicles to clean. There’s even drains in the floor, so you can clean the inside and out with a hose.
