Leveling Kit Installation in Chicago

Professional leveling kit installation for trucks and SUVs
Most trucks roll off the factory line with the rear sitting higher than the front. It’s called rake, and it’s there to help the truck carry a load – but unloaded, it leaves the front end looking low and the fender gap uneven. A leveling kit fixes that.
At Ultimate Rides, we install front leveling kits that bring the nose of your truck up to match the rear, open up room for a larger tire, and clean up the stance without changing how the truck drives day to day. It’s the most cost-effective suspension change you can make to a truck or SUV, and for a lot of owners it’s the only one they end up needing.
We install leveling kits on trucks and SUVs across the Chicago area, from daily drivers to trucks that tow every weekend. Every install includes proper torque specs, a check on your existing suspension components, and an alignment before the truck leaves the shop.
Not sure whether you want a leveling kit or a full suspension lift? We’ll measure your truck and tell you honestly which one gets you the result you’re after.

Leveling Kit Installation Services

Expert leveling kit installation for trucks, Jeeps and SUVs
Fitment varies by model, model year, trim and drivetrain, and the wrong kit on the wrong front end will eat CV boots, ball joints and tires.
We work on lifted and leveled trucks every day. That means we know which kits fit which front suspension, what tire size a given lift height actually clears on your specific truck, and when a spacer alone isn't the right answer. Every leveling kit we install is torqued to spec, checked against your existing suspension components, and aligned before you pick the truck up.

Where to get a leveling kit installed in the Chicago area
Our shop installs leveling kits for truck and SUV owners across the Chicago metro area, including:
Chicago, Naperville, Aurora, Joliet, Schaumburg, Elgin, Bolingbrook, Orland Park, Tinley Park, Downers Grove, Oak Park, Arlington Heights, Evanston, Skokie, Des Plaines, Mount Prospect, Palatine, Hoffman Estates, Wheaton, Glenview and the surrounding communities.
We're based in Braidwood, Illinois, an easy drive from anywhere in Chicagoland, and we've been building and servicing lifted and leveled trucks here since 2007. If you're searching for someone who installs leveling kits near you and you want it done by a shop that works on lifted trucks every day rather than one that does it occasionally, that's us.
What to know before installing a leveling kit
A leveling kit is a straightforward job, but a few things are worth understanding before you book it:
- Kit height: 2-inch and 3-inch front kits are the most common. More isn’t automatically better — going past what your front end was designed for increases CV angle and wear.
- Tire fitment: A leveling kit usually buys you one or two tire sizes. We’ll confirm what your specific truck clears before you buy tires, not after.
- Kit type: Strut spacers, torsion keys and full replacement struts all level a truck, but they suit different front suspension designs and different budgets.
- Alignment: Any change to front ride height changes your alignment. It’s not optional afterwards.
- Towing and payload: Leveling changes your loaded stance. If you tow regularly, tell us — it affects which kit we recommend.
- Warranty: Aftermarket suspension can affect coverage on related components. Worth a conversation before you commit.
Not sure which setup fits your truck? Tell us the year, make, model and what you use it for, and we’ll give you a straight recommendation.
Leveling Kit Installation FAQs
What does a leveling kit do?
A leveling kit raises the front of your truck so it sits level with the rear, removing the factory rake. It cleans up the stance, closes the front fender gap and creates room for a larger tire – without changing the height of the rear or the way the truck drives.
How much does leveling kit installation cost?
Cost depends on your vehicle, the type of kit and whether you’re changing wheels or tires at the same time. Strut spacers sit at the lower end; full replacement struts cost more but ride better. We quote every job before we start work, with parts, labor and alignment itemized, so there are no surprises.
Will a leveling kit void my warranty?
A leveling kit doesn’t void your vehicle’s warranty outright, but a manufacturer can decline a claim on a component if the modification caused the failure. Coverage varies by manufacturer and by component. We’ll walk you through what a leveling kit does and doesn’t touch on your specific truck before you commit.
Will a 2-inch leveling kit damage my truck?
A correctly sized, correctly installed leveling kit won’t damage your truck. Problems come from going higher than the front suspension was designed for, or from installing a kit without correcting the alignment afterwards. A 2-inch front kit is within normal range for most trucks – we confirm that against your specific model before we install anything.
Do I need an alignment after installing a leveling kit?
Yes. Raising the front changes your camber and toe, and driving on it uncorrected wears the inside edges of your front tires quickly. We align every truck we level before it leaves the shop.
